Redesigning a site that uses online tools to create offline connections - bringing back together our fragmented neighborhoods.

DECENTRALIZING SOCIAL

MEDIA

A tool designed to combat the chronic isolation in American neighborhoods - with some user issues.

Common Agency, a small nonprofit organization, seeks to solve what they see as a humanitarian crisis: we don't connect with our neighbors. To combat this, they launch "community owned networks" to use the power of online tools to create offline bonds.

The leadership of Common Agency realized that the problem they were trying to solve, and the tool that they created to solve it, weren't 100% aligned. They needed to better understand what their users needed the tool to do and how it needed to work, all without straying from their mission of being "not just another social media site".
